The Lego Movie: Advice for Non-Designer People Going into the Creative Field

So being the post-graduate that I am, I went to go see The Lego Movie last weekend with a few friends. If you were looking for childhood nostalgia then you will find it with this movie. Don’t worry; there won’t be any spoiler alerts here.

What I got out of The Lego Movie (besides tears of laughter and fun) is that you don’t have to be an “artist” to be creative. Anyone can be creative if they believe! I’ve met so many people that wish they had the ability to draw. I would like to remind those people that just because you can draw or design doesn’t mean that you are creative. Creativity is the expression of a conventional thought personalized by you! For those of you who still have your doubts, go and see The Lego Movie. Like right now. Or at least when it comes out on DVD six months later.

When you do see the movie, let me know! I’d love to hear your thoughts on it good or bad! But please remember, no spoilers!
