Pablo: Ever since I saw The Lego Movie I feel like my life has more meaning other than eating food! I think that I could even be “The Special….”. I came up with my own original thought! “Si Food” It’s what you say when you “see” food! Like it? I’m not sure why but every time I say that Elsa and his snails look at me weird…
Elsa: Pablo is crazy and believes that he’s “The Special”, whatever that means. Oh he’s “special” alright. I almost have the heart to tell him that seafood has already been invented and if he keeps annoying me he’ll be the main course…
Servant Snails: (In French) We believe that the royal blue is planning to sells us as a meal for his “seafood” idea….
Pet Owner’s Observation: Pablo keeps swimming around his fish bowl in circles as if he’s begging for more food. Elsa seems indifferent to this…Elsa’s snail are acting weird, they keep trying to slowly leave the bowl. What the heck is going on with them?
Have a funny pet story? Leave it down below I’d love to hear it!
So being the post-graduate that I am, I went to go see The Lego Movie last weekend with a few friends. If you were looking for childhood nostalgia then you will find it with this movie. Don’t worry; there won’t be any spoiler alerts here.
What I got out of The Lego Movie (besides tears of laughter and fun) is that you don’t have to be an “artist” to be creative. Anyone can be creative if they believe! I’ve met so many people that wish they had the ability to draw. I would like to remind those people that just because you can draw or design doesn’t mean that you are creative. Creativity is the expression of a conventional thought personalized by you! For those of you who still have your doubts, go and see The Lego Movie. Like right now. Or at least when it comes out on DVD six months later.
When you do see the movie, let me know! I’d love to hear your thoughts on it good or bad! But please remember, no spoilers!
Pablo: I really miss my snail. The way he used to hang from the fish bowl upside-down. How he used to eat my left over crumbs from the bottom of my tank. I still that we should have a Viking Funeral…
Elsa: Welp looks like Pablo’s snail has kicked the bucket. It found the big snail shell in the sky. Its pushing daisies.Insert other euphemisms for death here. At least Pablo was kind and made a nice bedding for the snail. That is until he decided to light the snail on fire Viking style without thinking….
Pet Owner’s Observation: Looks like I’ll need to get Pablo another snail so that he won’t be lonely. Maybe Elsa would be generous enough to donate one of his snails to Pablo…Or not.
If you have been tuning into Pablo Thursdays then you may have been curious to know what they look like in real life. I present to you Pablo and Elsa in their natural habitat. Stay tune for more Pablo Thursdays!
Pablo: How did I get here again exactly? I remember being in a fish container at Pet smart…or was it Petco… And now I’m here in this huge plant filled bowl! With a snail and food deliveries by air! I wonder what animal was here in the before time…. Oh well, I want some more food. Hola senoritas! Tengo hambre y quiero la comida!
Elsa: Pablo is an idiot. Did I mention he’s an idiot? Anyways over hearing the owners apparently an aquatic puppy by the name of Dashy use to inhibit this useless counter space. Not entirely sure if its a dog…or a fish…I’m sure its nothing frightening
Meanwhile at the Pet Owner’s other house…
Pet Owner’s Observation: I don’t understand this, I bought this thing 33 Fish, 10 snails and a few shrimp and more than 3/4 of EVERYTHING is gone. Why don’t you get a turtle they said, it would be slow they said. At this rate she’s going to become Godzilla…
Dashy: The life of a turtle is not what it seems. Due to pop culture beliefs I am assumed to be slow, independent and boring. WELL, I’ll have you know that I am a home decorator and frequently move my assorted aquarium rocks during sleeping hours. I enjoy fine dinning such as snails or frog legs. And I am certainly not slow by any means. You take me out of this tank and I’ll show you how slow you all think I am.
Have a stubborn turtle who enjoys being outside their tank? You should get a turtle tracking device! As demonstrated in this meme you will never lose your turtle again.
Pablo Thursdays is not responsible for any lost turtles, damaged balloons or fingers nor sells this product.
It: …And so I have returned to my natural environment. I see the human has not caught on to the hamster’s plot. I believe that they will soon succeed in their master plan making an even more annoying sounds during normal sleeping hours.
Frick: I can’t WAIT to run on the wheel again….I think I’ll go do it now. I wonder how fast I can go…I BET I can go even faster if I put my bedding in my wheel.
Frack: Yes brother….add the bedding in the wheel. This is good. Very good.
Pet Owner’s Observation:
I’ve woken up to the lovely surprise of finding hamster bedding all over my work space due to the genius idea of them running on the wheel with bedding inside. I swear they just plot my demise when I’m not looking…
Have a funny pet story? Leave me a comment I’d love to hear it!
The day has finally come! My owners have finally realized that I require a bowl of great size in order to be pleased. Looks like I will be ending my hunger strike now. And I want to servant snails too! Don’t forget the plant!
Oh my gosh I have a plant! Its a really big plant…I don’t know if I like this…Is that food?
It seems that I will be leaving my temporary kingdom shortly to return to own home.
Pet Owner’s Observation:
Elsa is a bratty beta, it took a bigger bowl, 2 snails and a plant to satisfy this fish! Now Elsa greets me for 5 seconds before returning to hide in his plant. Pablo is well…adjusting to the new recent changes in plant-bowl dynamics. Maybe I should have gotten him something a bit more graceful. “It” is finally going home to its original owner. It was nice having you!
Leave me a comment about a funny pet story, I’d love to here it! Learn more about Pablo Thursdays here!
Me llamo Pablo! This bowl is so roomy and OH! look I have a wonderful little plant. Oh! I have neighbors too? Why does that It get to have the lamp? Is it time to eat yet?
The nerve of my owners placing me inside this bread box of a fishbowl. I deserve to have the biggest bowl out of all of the Betas! That’s it…I shall go on a hunger strike until I get what I deserve! Why is Pablo so active…he must have an attention span disorder…
I…am King. The lamp only shines upon me.
Pet Owner’s Observation:
Pablo is incredibly active for a Beta… and seems to know the meaning of a full stomach. Elisa refuses to eat his pellets and hides behind his “No Fishing” sign. I could be mistaken…but I think Elisa has bowl-envy. It, seems to have a superiority complex. Why are all my pets either incredibly intelligent or incredibly stupid…
ABOUT PABLO THURSDAY’S
Pablo is, well you guessed it a fish. But not just any fish; Pablo is my pet Beta fish and Elsa (also a Beta) is my roommate’s fish. The third fish named “It” is an adult Beta. We have come to realize that our pets seem to have distinct personalities and as such we found it appropriate to create a web comic world for them to live in. These are the digital memoirs of our pet fish coming to you every Thursday. Leave some of your funniest pet moments in the comments below, I’d love to hear them!
There is a certain style of digital painting I am trying to achieve which resembles acrylic painting. One of my favorite artists, Lois or better know as Loish uses this style to create amazing work. So I decided to watch one of her vimeo process videos to try to get a better grip on how to paint this way. My test subject for this painting was know other than my character Black Rose. What are your favorite painting styles and why? Leave some comments and feel free to post a video so I can see too!
